I'm diving into a new series of 18x24 paintings, and it's been an exciting departure from my usual work. For years, landscapes have been my anchor—but lately, I've felt the pull to explore different subjects entirely. This shift has opened up a whole new creative territory.
What's making this series particularly experimental is the material exploration. I'm testing everything from glossy finishes that catch light in unexpected ways, to matte surfaces that invite a quieter, more intimate viewing experience. The contrast between these finishes is teaching me how dramatically surface can change the way a piece communicates.
I've also been playing with iridescent elements—layering them into compositions to create depth and movement that shifts depending on how you view the work. It's a subtle tool, but when it lands right, it transforms the entire piece. Alongside that, I'm embracing bold statement colors and forms that feel more direct and unapologetic than my previous work.
This is very much a testing phase. Which mean I will be selling these collection at an affordable price. By pushing into unfamiliar territory—new subjects, new materials, new visual languages—I'm discovering what resonates and what feels authentic to where I am creatively right now.
